What this is
A name tool for people who search for a Korean name in English and for people who need a character name.
It picks a surname and a given name and shows the hanja meaning and the spelling.
Where the lists come from
The surname, hanja and native word lists were picked by hand. No commercial name database was copied.
Each hanja sound and English meaning was checked against the open Unicode character data. The Korean gloss is a short rendering of that meaning.
Native words are common ones. No word was invented.
What it does not do
No accounts, and what you type is never sent to a server.
It does not rate a name by strokes, elements or birth date.
For a real birth registration, check the court's official hanja list for names.
